Suomi, Suomen kiviteollisuus, Granit ja Lehdon Kiviliike. Vehmaan punainen graniitti tunnetaan nimellä Balmoral Red. Nimi johtuu siitä, että se muistuttaa skotlantilaista graniittia, josta Englannin kuninkaallisten lomalinna Balmoral on rakennettu. Se edustaa hollantilaista myöhäisrenessanssia, ja sen esikuvana on ollut Tukholman ritarihuone. Kirjastotalon ensimmäisessä kerroksessa toimi työväestölle tarkoitettu kansankirjasto ja toisessa sivistyneistölle tarkoitettu kaupunginkirjasto. Vuonna 1912 nämä kirjastot yhdistettiin Turun kaupunginkirjastoksi. Ensimmäiset Turun kaupunginkirjaston sivukirjastot perustettiin 1939, jonka jälkeen niitä perustettiin eri puolille kaupunkia. Tällä hetkellä Turun kaupunginkirjastossa on tominnassa 12 lähikirjastoa.
