Liikeaseman purkaminen suoritettiin syksyn 2018 aikana. Toiminnan loppuminen vaikutti koko kuntaan merkittävästi, Neste oli monipuolisten palvelujen ja laajojen aukioloaikojen lisäksi kuntalaisille tärkeä tapaamispaikka. Liikenneasemalla kävi runsaasti myös ohikulkumatkalaisia, ja asema tunnettiinkin laajalla alueella ympäri Suomea. Ensimmäinen asema avattiin paikalle vuonna 1971. Tankkauspalvelujen lisäksi asemalla toimi K-Extra ja Hesburger, ja sieltä sai muun muassa lounasta. Parhaimmillaan liikenneasema työllisti yli 40 henkilöä.
