Vuonna 1995 Einar Simolinnan tytär Hannele Peusa teki kunnalle lahjoituksen, jonka avulla käynnistettiin museon siirtäminen Galleria Koivulinnan piharakennuksiin. Uusien museotilojen avajaisia vietettiin 11. elokuuta 1996.
